- WCISA
is pleased to announce a Scholarship Program for the 2008-2009 Academic
Year:

Purpose: To improve educational opportunities for academically qualified college students
who have financial need and are a child or stepchild of an employee at a WCISA member
company. -
Availability: Two $1000 scholarships will be available and awarded to two high school
seniors for use in the 2008-2009 academic year. -
Eligibility:
• Applicants must be a high school senior in good-standing, and they must plan on
enrolling in an accredited two or four-year college or university in the fall of the
application year.
• Any planned field of study is acceptable.
• The student must be the child or stepchild of an employee of a WCISA-member
company in good-standing at the time of the application. -
Criteria: The student must have a GPA (cumulative through high school) of 3.0 or higher
at the time of application. Determination of financial need will be based on the student’s
personal statement. Participation in extracurricular activities throughout high school,
community service and special family circumstances will be given special consideration.
Application materials will be submitted to WCSA, c/o Michael McNulty, Executive Director.

No WCISA Outing at Wire Expo 2008 in Pittsburgh. Due to the reasons listed below, the WCISA Board of Directors has voted not to hold a WCISA networking outing on the eve of the opening of the Wire Expo 2008 exhibits in Pittsburgh, PA, USA;
- WCISA’s non-endorsement of Wire Expo 2008.
- WCISA’s request of the WAI (Wire Association International) to cancel future Wire Expo events.
- Wire Expo exhibits open at 12:45 PM on Monday, June 9, so many exhibitors will arrive late Sunday night or Monday morning.
- The WAI has scheduled a 5K Road Race for Charity (Sponsored by Leoni Wire Inc.) at 5:30 PM on Sunday night, June 8, 2008 (as part of Wire Expo).
Wire Expo 2008 exhibits are open June 9-11, 2008. Hardcopies of the WCISA Member Directory and Product Listing, 2008 Edition, will be distributed at the show from booth 722.
